Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Hampton was activated from the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's 8-1 loss to the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.
Hampton, who was out with a left forearm injury, suffered the loss in his first start since May 31, allowing five runs on seven hits in just two innings. He fell to 4-2 and saw his ERA jump from 1.83 to 2.51 in 10 starts this season.
Hampton had been bothered by tightness in his left forearm since a May 14 start against the Dodgers.
Atlanta needed to clear roster space for Hampton and optioned righthander Kyle Davies to its Triple-A affiliate in Richmond.
The Braves split a four-game series with the Mets and will next travel to San Francisco to start a three-game series against the Giants on Monday.
