The Washington Redskins officially signed free agent linebacker Warrick Holdman on Tuesday. The two sides had agreed to terms last week.
The 6-foot-1 Holdman played for the Cleveland Browns last season and started 14-of-16 games, recording 110 tackles. Prior to the 2004 campaign, he spent five years with the Chicago Bears.
Holdman will help fill the void at middle linebacker for Antonio Pierce, who signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants.
To make room for Holdman, the Redskins released tight end David Kashetta, an undrafted rookie out of Boston College.
