The Cleveland Indians traded outfielder Jody Gerut to the Chicago Cubs for outfielder Jason Dubois on Monday night. The Indians had been looking for a righthanded power hitter, and Dubois hit 31 home runs at Triple-A Iowa last season. He hit .239 with seven homers with Chicago this year before being sent back to the minors. Gerut, who was on the disabled list the first six weeks of the season while recovering from knee surgery, was hitting .275 with the Indians this year. He has 34 home runs in 305 career games.
