Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Jason Jennings will miss the rest of the season with a hand injury. Jennings, who was the NL Rookie of the Year in 2002, injured his right middle finger while making a hard slide into second base trying to break up a double- play against Washington on Wednesday night. "Jennings has a compression fracture of the middle finger of the right hand," said Colorado skipper Clint Hurdle, who made the announcement before Friday's game against the Pirates. "He's out for the season. That's not what we would have put in for, but it's what we got." Jennings, who has been the club's most durable starter, finishes the 2005 campaign with a 6-9 mark and a 5.02 ERA. Only Jennings and lefty Jeff Francis (8-7) have been in the club's rotation all season.
