Texas Rangers outfielder Laynce Nix will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. The procedure is expected to take place next week, but he expects to be ready by spring training. Nix, who is already on the disabled list with left shoulder soreness, was examined by Dr. Lewis Yocum in California. Nix is hitting .240 with six homers and 32 RBI this season.
