Toronto Blue Jays third baseman/designated hitter Corey Koskie was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday prior to their contest with the LA Angels of Anaheim. Koskie had been sidelined since suffering a broken right thumb and ligament damage back on May 19. The injury occurred when Koskie slid into second base after tagging up on a fly out by Vernon Wells and collided with Minnesota's Luis Rivas. The 31-year-old Koskie signed a three-year contract with Toronto during the offseason after he spent the first seven years of his career with the Twins, who selected him in the 26th round of the 1994 First Year Player Draft. He is hitting .248 with seven home runs and 16 RBI this season. To make room for Koskie, the Blue Jays optioned pitcher Chad Gaudin to Triple- A Syracuse.
