Seattle Mariners third baseman Adrian Beltre was out of the starting lineup Wednesday with tightness in his left hamstring.
Beltre, who left Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the Yankees in the sixth inning, is batting .237 with four home runs and 23 RBI.
This past winter the right-handed slugger signed a five-year deal with Seattle worth $64 million.
Gregg Dobbs started in place of Beltre at third for the Mariners, who are concluding a three-game set with New York.
