Atlanta Braves southpaw Mike Hampton is expected to miss his next scheduled start on Saturday at Boston because of left forearm tightness.
After throwing about 10 pitches while warming up before his bullpen session on Tuesday, Hampton continued to feel tightness in the forearm. The same symptoms forced him to leave last Saturday's start versus Los Angeles after just 2 1/3 innings.
"I don't think Saturday would be good," Hampton said on the team's website. "I think more likely it would be Tuesday. One extra day wouldn't make that much difference."
In eight games this season, the 32-year-old Hampton is 4-1 with a 1.96 earned run average. The Braves are struggling as of late, dropping two in a row and four of their last six games.
