The Detroit Tigers activated Placido Polanco off the 15-day disabled list prior to Wednesday night's loss to the Seattle Mariners.
The versatile infielder had been sidelined with a strained left hamstring and went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored against Seattle. Polanco was acquired by the Tigers from Philadelphia last month.
To make room on the roster, outfielder Curtis Granderson was optioned to Triple-A Toledo. Granderson hit .318 (7-for-22) in six games for the Tigers with two homers and four RBI.
