Seattle Mariners righthander Gil Meche left Thursday's start against Cleveland after only three innings after complaining of tightness in his throwing shoulder.
Meche left trailing 3-0 after surrendering a three-run homer to Victor Martinez in the top of the third. He threw 66 pitches and allowed four hits while walking three.
Meche, who is 10-7 with a 4.70 ERA in 21 starts this season, was relieved by Matt Thornton.
