The New Orleans Saints added free agent wide receiver Nate Poole to their roster Thursday, according to The Advocate. Terms of the deal were not reported.
Poole played his entire career with the Arizona Cardinals after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2002. Last season, Poole played in nine contests with one start and recorded just five receptions for 70 yards. He didn't see much of the field playing behind star receivers Anquan Bolden and Larry Fitzgerald.
The Marshall product is perhaps best known for being on the receiving end of the Josh McCown touchdown strike that eliminated the Minnesota Vikings from playoff contention on the last play of the 2003 regular season.
For his career, the 28-year-old Poole has 31 catches for 355 yards and two touchdowns.
