The Texas Rangers placed outfielder Richard Hidalgo on the 15-day disabled list prior to Saturday's game against Baltimore. The move is retroactive to August 5.
Hidalgo, who has been bothered by a chip fracture in his left wrist, was injured in a game this past Wednesday against Tampa Bay when he was attempting to slide. He played the following night, but left the game due to the injury.
On the season, Hidalgo is batting just .221 with 16 homers and 43 RBI.
In other team news, the Rangers recalled infielder Marshall McDougall from Triple-A Oklahoma.
