The San Francisco Giants have placed outfielder Moises Alou on the 15-day disabled list because of a right hamstring strain.
The move is retroactive to August 3.
Alou leads the Giants with a .328 batting average in 87 games and has 13 homers with 43 runs batted in.
The Giants also placed pitcher Scott Munter on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.
Munter last pitched on Thursday against Atlanta and has been one of the top arms out of the San Francisco bullpen this season. He owns a record of 2-0 with a 2.39 earned run average in 44 appearances.
San Francisco filled the vacant roster spots by recalling outfielder Todd Linden and pitcher Jeremy Accardo from Triple-A Fresno.
Linden has appeared in 17 games for the Giants this season and is batting just .172 with two homers and seven runs batted in.
Accardo, meanwhile, has pitched in 10 games for the parent club this year. The righthander has a record of 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA.
