The Detroit Tigers placed outfielder Rondell White on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a dislocated left shoulder.
White left Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against Kansas City in the third inning as he dove for a ball hit by David DeJesus. After White was on the ground holding his shoulder and writhing in pain, the ball caromed into the corner and DeJesus used his speed to touch all the bases for an inside-the- park home run.
The 33-year-old White belted a three-run homer in the opener, but didn't play in the second game due to the injury. He is hitting .313 with 12 homers and 53 RBI this year. White has also hit safely in 23 of his last 27 games.
In other team news, the Tigers recalled outfielder Curtis Granderson from Triple-A Toledo.
