The Colorado Avalanche Tuesday agreed to terms with goaltender David Aebischer and five other players.
Aebischer, who has spent his entire career in the Avalanche organization, became the club's regular netminder in 2003-04, taking over for retired superstar Patrick Roy.
"David has proven that he can be a solid goaltender in this league," Avalanche director of player development Craig Billington said. "He has worked very hard to get to this level."
The 26-year-old Swiss star notched a 32-19-9 record with a 2.09 goals against average and four shutouts for Colorado. Aebischer went 6-5 with a 2.08 GAA and one shutout in the playoffs that season.
Aebischer allowed two or fewer goals in 12 of his final 15 regular-season starts in 2003-04. His 32 wins were also seventh-best in the NHL.
Also on Tuesday, the Avalanche agreed to terms with goaltenders Peter Budaj, Tom Lawson and Vitaly Kolesnik, along with defenseman Brett Clark and forward Paul Healey.
