The Milwaukee Brewers placed centerfielder Brady Clark on the 15-day disabled list with bruised ribs. The move is retroactive to August 11.
The 32-year-old Clark suffered the injury in last Friday's game against St. Louis after he collided with Hector Luna while attempting to break up a double play.
Clark is hitting a team-high .311 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 113 games this season. He also has 147 hits, which is fourth in the National League, and has scored 76 runs on the year.
A six-year veteran, who had stints with Cincinnati and the New York Mets, Clark is a lifetime .283 hitter with 28 homers and 156 RBI.
In other team news, the Brewers recalled first baseman Prince Fielder from Triple-A Nashville. Fielder hit .321 with one homer and six runs driven in during his three-week stint with Milwaukee earlier this season.
