The Dallas Cowboys Wednesday released kicker Billy Cundiff and five other players, owner and general manager Jerry Jones announced.
The club also parted ways with offensive tackle Jacob Rogers, fullback Darian Barnes, linebacker Mike Goolsby, free safety Izell Reese and wide receiver Ahmad Merritt.
Dallas plans to reach an injury settlement with Cundiff, who suffered a hip injury during the team's final practice of training camp. Jose Cortez, who signed a five-year deal with the Cowboys on August 5, took over kicking duties for the club and hit three field goals this past Monday in an 18-10 win over Seattle.
Also on Wednesday, Dallas signed safety Rich Coady to a one-year contract worth $540,000.
