Detroit Tigers starter Jeremy Bonderman left Wednesday's 9-2 loss to Oakland after taking a line drive back up the middle off his right hand.
Bonderman, who was dealt the loss, suffered a bruised right wrist and x- rays came back negative. He will undergo further tests on Thursday.
The incident occurred in the top of the fourth when Marco Scutaro lined a pitch sharply at Bonderman, who could not get out of the way in time and fell to the ground in pain. Trainers immediately came out to tend to the Tigers hurler, who was replaced by Roman Colon.
The righthander went three plus innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and a walk. On the season, Bonderman is now 14-10 with a 4.27 ERA with 135 strikeouts.
