The Calgary Flames shipped defenseman Toni Lydman to the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday for a third-round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Lydman collected four goals and 16 assists in 67 games for Calgary during the 2003-04 campaign with 14 of those points coming on the power play.
A fifth-round pick of the Flames in 1996, Lydman has netted 93 points (19 goals, 74 assists) in 289 games over four seasons with Calgary. He has also posted three straight seasons of 20 or more points.
The 27-year-old native of Finland enjoyed his best season in 2001-02 when he tallied six goals and 22 assists.
