The Montreal Canadiens announced Friday they have re-signed goaltender Jose Theodore to a three-year contract.
Terms of the deal were not released, as per club policy.
The 28-year-old netminder played in 67 games with the Canadiens in 2003-04 and registered 33 wins, good for fourth best in the NHL, with a 2.27 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.
He spent the 2004-05 season with Djurgardens in the Swedish Elite Division, appearing in 17 games with a 2.46 goals against average.
Theodore, the 44th overall selection in the 1994 draft, has played in 315 career games, all with Montreal, and has a career goals against average of 2.52. The 2002 winner of the Vezina and Hart trophies has also posted 124 wins and has made a pair of All-Star appearances during his eight-year career.
