Atlanta Braves southpaw Mike Hampton was placed on the 15-day disabled list prior to Saturday night's win versus the Boston Red Sox.
Hampton is bothered by a strained left forearm and was replaced by righthander Kyle Davies, who was recalled from Triple-A Richmond and made his major-league debut at historic Fenway Park.
Davies did a fine job and pitched five shutout innings to lead the Braves to a 7-5 victory. Davies (1-0) struck out six batters while giving up just four hits and three walks.
Hampton, meanwhile, is 4-1 with a 1.96 earned run average in eight games this season.
