Top-seeded American Lindsay Davenport made quick work of her semifinal opponent on Saturday to move into the finals of the $225,000 Wismilak International.
Davenport, this year's Wimbledon and Australian Open runner-up, had little trouble with seventh-seeded Na Li of China, handling her, 6-2, 6-2. Davenport also defeated Li at the U.S. Open.
Up next for Davenport will be fourth-seeded Italian Francesca Schiavone, who moved into the final when Swiss Patty Schnyder was forced to retire in the third set with what was described as heat illness. Schiavone lost the first set 1-6, but won the second, 6-4 before Schnyder retired.
This week's champion will collect $35,000.
