In a match that featured two unseeded women, Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain defeated Marta Domachowska of Poland, 6-4, 6-3 on Saturday in the final at the Strasbourg International -- a final clay-court tuneup for the French Open.
Medina Garrigues upset top-seeded French crowd favorite Nathalie Dechy in the semifinals, while Domachowska dropped Madagascar's Dally Randriantefy to reach Saturday's final at Ligue d'Alsace de Tennis.
The 22-year-old Medina Garrigues also beat the 19-year-old Domachowska in straight sets at Indian Wells earlier this year in their only other career meeting.
Medina Garrigues won her third title on the WTA Tour, while Domachowska failed to win her first. Medina Garrigues improved to 3-2 in title matches.
Domachowska lost her only other career final in Seoul last season.
