Washington Nationals outfielder Brad Wilkerson missed Sunday's game against Toronto and could be sidelined for an extended period of time with a right forearm injury.
Wilkerson has been bothered by pain in the forearm for several days, but has played through it. However, the soreness became unbearable and Wilkerson has decided to seek medical attention. He is scheduled to undergo a bone scan while the club is in Cincinnati to begin a three-game series versus the Reds on Monday.
The 27-year-old Wilkerson is listed as day-to-day and there is no timetable for his return. In 42 games this season, he is batting .281 with three homers and 17 RBI.
