Hall of Fame Racing and its owners Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman have made their first key move on the road to competing in the 2006 Nextel Cup Series on Tuesday when they hired crew chief Philippe Lopez.
Lopez, who was working in the Richard Childress Racing R & D department, began the season as crew chief for the No.7 team with driver Dave Blaney.
"My first priority is to get the shop up and running," Lopez said. "We are working very closely with Joe Gibbs Racing. That will give us a great advantage right from the start. We have a lot to do between now and Daytona."
JGR will provide the team with engines and chassis as well as technology.
