The New York Rangers acquired forward Marcel Hossa from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Garth Murray, the team announced Friday.
Hossa, 23, has appeared in 59 career games, all with Montreal, tallying 10 goals and nine assists. Hossa played in 15 games during the 2003-04 season, recording two points (one goal, one assist).
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound winger is the younger brother of Marian Hossa, who was dealt this offseason by the Ottawa Senators to the Atlanta Thrashers.
Murray, 22, played in 55 games last season with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL, recording four goals and five assists with 182 penalty minutes.
