St. Louis Cardinals reliever Al Reyes has a torn ligament in his right elbow and will miss the entire postseason.
Reyes suffered the injury Sunday in the Cardinals' regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Reds. He will need to undergo reconstructive surgery and could be sidelined for an entire year.
The 35-year-old Reyes appeared in 65 games for St. Louis this season and posted a 4-2 record and 2.15 earned run average.
It is not yet known who will replace Reyes on the Cardinals postseason roster. St. Louis will open the playoffs at home against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday afternoon.
