Rackers highlights NFC's weekly best

Neil Rackers' 19-point performance in Arizona's 31-14 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL's first-ever regular-season game on foreign soil was good enough for him to be honored as one of the league's best for Week 4. New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress and New Orleans Saints defensive end Darren Howard also earned weekly honors. Rackers, who earned Special Teams Player of the Week, hit a career-best six field goals and an extra point for the Cardinals, who captured their first victory of the season. Four of Rackers' field goals were from 40 or more yards (40, 43, 45, 48), while the other two were relative chip shots (23, 24). This is the second time in his career that Rackers has won this award. He also had seven touchbacks on kickoffs, becoming the first kicker to reach that plateau in 12 years. Burress earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the first time in his career with his 10-catch, 204- yard, two-TD output in the Giants' 44-24 thumping of St. Louis. His receiving total was a career best, while the 204 yards was the third most for a Giants receiver in club history and most by a wideout in the league this season. Howard, the Defensive PLayer of the Week, helped the Saints even their record through four games with a 19-7 victory over Buffalo at the Alamodome. Howard had two sacks, three tackles and a forced fumble for New Orleans, which was playing its first game in front of a true home crowd this year.
