Buffalo Bills defensive tackle, Ron Edwards, who recently underwent surgery to repair damage in his right shoulder, was placed on injured reserve by the club on Wednesday. Edwards injured the shoulder in a loss to the New Orleans Saints on October 2 and had season-ending surgery last Friday. This marks the second time in three years the 26-year-old's season has been cut short due to a shoulder problem. Edwards played in just five games during the 2003 campaign before tearing the rotator cuff in his left shoulder. Edwards started the first four games this season and had six tackles. He was selected by Buffalo in the third round of the 2001 draft. In a related move, the Bills signed rookie defensive tackle Jason Jefferson from the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. Jefferson was a sixth-round pick of New Orleans in the 2005 draft who joined the Eagles on October 4.
