Jacksonville Jaguars running back Fred Taylor was inactive with an ankle injury for Sunday's 23-17 overtime win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fullback Greg Jones started at running back for the injured Taylor and racked up 77 yards and a touchdown.
Rookie running back Alvin Pearman also saw time in the backfield and finished the game with 22 yards rushing and five catches for 35 yards.
Taylor, who missed the majority of practice this past week, rushed for 132 yards on 24 carries in last week's 23-20 win over the previously undefeated Cincinnati Bengals, but sprained his right ankle in the waning minutes of the game.
The eight-year NFL veteran missed the final two games of the season last year with a knee injury, which was surgically repaired in the offseason. That was just one of many setbacks in Taylor's injury-riddled career, which includes a groin tear that sidelined him for all but two games in 2001.
