Burleson, other Vikings ready to return

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Nate Burleson is expected to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers in an NFC North matchup. Burleson is officially listed as probable, as are cornerback Brian Williams and defensive end Spencer Johnson. All three participated in practice Wednesday, and head coach Mike Tice likes the progress they are making. "Nate looked very good in the walk through as did Brian Williams as did Spencer Johnson. The key guys there would be Nate and Spencer. If Spencer's healthy it gives us an opportunity to be able to play whatever type of front we want to play," said Tice. Burleson has six catches for 94 yards in 2005, but has not played since Week 2 because of a sprained left knee. He had a break-out year in 2004, with 68 catches for 1,006 yards and nine touchdowns. Williams has 10 tackles in three games this season. In 2004, Williams recorded 74 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and nine passes defended. Johnson, the second year player out of Auburn, has nine tackles in four games in 2005. He played in nine games a year ago, registering 40 tackles, one sack and one pass defended. Both Williams and Johnson also had knee problems.
