San Antonio Silver Stars forward Kendra Wecker is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee in her WNBA debut on Saturday.
Wecker, who was the fourth overall pick in this year's draft, injured the knee with 30 seconds left in the first half of the team's game against Houston. The Comets won the contest 78-70.
The 22-year-old Wecker, who was the 2005 Big 12 Player of the Year, will undergo surgery on June 8. Wecker saw 11 minutes of action and scored four points before leaving the game.
