Toronto Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay is expected to miss his next scheduled start because of a strained left oblique muscle.
Halladay began to feel discomfort in his side the day after his last start. On Saturday, he tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits, in a 7-0 win over Washington.
For the year, Halladay is 7-2 with a 2.84 ERA in 10 starts. The righthander has won three straight starts and is 5-1 on the road this season.
Gustavo Chacin is expected to replace Halladay in the rotation when Toronto closes out a three-game series against Boston on Thursday.
The team will determine later this week if Halladay will pitch as early as Saturday versus Minnesota.
