Amelie Mauresmo and Elena Dementieva will play for the title at the Advanta Championships after each posted semifinal wins on Saturday.
The fourth-seeded Dementieva did it the easy way, without playing, as the Russian star moved into the final when countrywoman Nadia Petrova was unable to take the court because of a bruised heel.
The third-seeded Mauresmo then continued her remarkable run in this tournament with a 7-5, 7-5 victory over red-hot Czech teenager Nicole Vaidisova.
The seventh-seeded Vaidisova, only 16 years old, had won 18 straight matches, which included three consecutive WTA titles.
Mauresmo is the two-time defending champion. She is the highest seed playing this week after American Lindsay Davenport and Russian Maria Sharapova withdrew earlier in the week. Davenport, the top seed, is ailing from the flu and Sharapova, the two seed, suffered a right thumb sprain during off-court training.
Sunday's winner will pocket $93,000.
