TCU accepted a bid on Tuesday to play in the Houston Bowl, becoming the first Mountain West team to play in the bowl.
The Horned Frogs are ranked 13th in the BCS and have defeated five bowl- eligible teams this season. TCU (10-1) has won nine consecutive games, giving it the third longest winning streak in the country behind only USC and Texas.
"We're excited to be going to our seventh bowl game in the last eight years," said TCU head coach Gary Patterson. "We also look forward to the opportunity to move up in the polls."
The Houston Bowl will be played on Saturday, December 31 at Reliant Stadium. The Horned Frogs will face a yet to be determined Big 12 opponent.
