NFL owners have approved the sale of the Minnesota Vikings from Red McCombs to Zygmunt Wilf.
The sale price has been reported by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune at $600 million, and the paper said transfer of ownership will be finalized June 9. McCombs bought the club in 1998 for $246 million.
Wilf, a New Jersey developer, became the general partner of a group that had initially been led by Arizona businessman Reggie Fowler, who would have become the first African-American majority owner in NFL history.
Fowler and McCombs announced an agreement on February 14. But concerns over Fowler's finances surfaced, leading to the organizational change. Fowler will still be part of the ownership group.
Wilf has said that he will keep the Vikings in Minnesota.
