Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams could be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season because of a groin injury.
Williams, who also returns kicks, was hurt in the first quarter of this past Sunday's game against Baltimore.
The Denver Post reported Tuesday that the severity of the injury could keep Williams sidelined for six weeks, which would take him through the final three games of the regular season and deep into the playoffs, should the Broncos make it that far.
Williams has two interceptions this season, returning one 80 yards for a touchdown on November 14 against Oakland. He has also averaged 23.9 yards on 18 kickoff returns and 8.7 yards on 17 punt returns.
The Oklahoma State product was a second-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, but Denver's first selection.
