Dodgers sign Brett Tomko

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Thursday that the club has signed pitcher Brett Tomko to a two-year contract with an option for a third season. The righty compiled an 8-15 record with a 4.14 ERA last season while pitching with San Francisco and will be reunited with Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti, who previously served as the Giants' assistant GM. Tomko had spent the previous two years in the Bay area where he was 19-22. Prior to his stint in San Francisco, Tomko made stops in Cincinnati (1997-99), Seattle (2000-01), San Diego (2002) and St. Louis (2003). In his career, the 32-year-old is 81-73 with a 4.52 ERA, which includes double-digit wins in five of his nine big league seasons. Tomko becomes the latest free agent added by the Dodgers, who have been extremely active in the offseason. Colletti, who was hired after the 2005 campaign ended, has already lured Nomar Garciaparra, Rafael Furcal, Sandy Alomar Jr., Bill Mueller and Kenny Lofton to Los Angeles.
