University of Georgia wide receiver Sean Bailey tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during practice Tuesday night and will not play in the Sugar Bowl on January 2 versus West Virginia.
The university sports medicine staff evaluated the wide receiver on Wednesday and a MRI confirmed the injury.
Bailey caught 16 passes for 364 yards and four touchdowns for the Bulldogs (10-2). The junior wideout was quarterback D.J. Shockley's favorite deep threat, averaging a team-leading 22.8 yards per catch with a minimum of 10 receptions.
