The Detroit Tigers agreed to a one-year contract with infielder Brandon Inge and a two-year deal with pitcher Mike Maroth on Wednesday.
Inge played 160 games at third base last season for Detroit, the most for a Tiger since Aureilo Rodriguez played the same amount of games at the hot corner in 1973. He batted .261 with 75 runs, 16 home runs and 72 RBI.
The 28-year-old Inge has played five seasons, all with the Tigers, and has also seen work as a catcher and outfielder. He is a career .238 hitter with 44 home runs and 205 RBI in 569 games.
The left-handed Maroth went 14-14 with a 4.74 ERA in 34 starts for the Tigers last season. He set career bests in wins, starts and strikeouts (115) last season.
The 28-year-old has played four seasons, all with Detroit, and has a 40-58 record and a 4.82 ERA in 121 starts.
