The Atlanta Braves have agreed to contract terms with pitchers Jorge Sosa and Mike Remlinger.
Sosa avoided salary arbitration with the club by working out a one-year deal, while Remlinger agreed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Financial terms of Sosa's deal were not disclosed, but he had asked for $2.6 million in arbitration and the Braves had offered $1.8 million.
Sosa had a breakout season for the Braves in 2005, posting a record of 13-3 with a 2.55 earned run average in 44 games. He joined the rotation in June and was 10-3 with a 2.62 ERA in 20 starts.
Atlanta acquired Sosa from Tampa Bay on March 31. The righthander was just 11-26 in three seasons with the Devil Rays and owns a career mark of 24-29 with a 4.41 ERA in 147 games, including 61 starts.
Remlinger, meanwhile, pitched for the Braves from 1999 through 2002 and had his best big league season during his first year with the club, posting a 10-1 record with a 2.37 ERA.
The 39-year-old lefty split the 2005 campaign with the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs. He has also pitched for San Francisco, the New York Mets and Cincinnati, and has a career mark of 51-51 with a 3.90 ERA in 604 appearances since 1991.
