New York Yankees reliever Felix Rodriguez underwent arthroscopic surgery Thursday on his left knee and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
Noted surgeon Dr. Richard Steadman performed the procedure in Vail, Colorado.
Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday after tearing cartilage in the knee while getting out of the shower earlier in the week. The righthander is expected to begin rehabilitation at the Yankees' spring training complex in Tampa next week.
The 32-year-old Rodriguez was acquired from Philadelphia for outfielder Kenny Lofton during the offseason and has and has appeared in 11 contests. He has tossed 11 2/3 innings and has no record with a 5.40 ERA.
