The Baltimore Orioles recalled outfielder Larry Bigbie from his rehab assignment Monday and activated him from the 15-day disabled list.
Bigbie had been on the DL since May 28 with a strained left hamstring. He batted .294 with a home run and two doubles in four rehab games with Triple-A Ottawa.
In 33 games so far this season for the Orioles, Bigbie is hitting .241 with no homers and nine runs batted in. He originally suffered the injury May 12 and was out of the lineup for a week before returning and playing in five contests.
The Orioles also purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Chris Ray from Double-A Bowie. To make room on the roster, lefthander John Parrish was optioned to Bowie and outfielder Napoleon Calzado was designated for assignment.
