The Cleveland Indians announced that starting pitcher Kevin Millwood has been activated from the 15-day disabled list and is expected to start in Thursday's series finale against Colorado.
Millwood, who had been on the DL with a strained right groin, initially received the injury in a May 25 start against Minnesota.
He was forced to leave that game after suffering the injury in the fifth inning while pitching to Mike Redmond. After yielding a single to the Twins catcher on a 3-2 pitch, he bent over in obvious discomfort and was replaced by Rafael Betancourt.
Millwood, who signed a one-year contract with the Indians in January, is 1-4 with a 3.20 ERA in 10 starts this season.
In a corresponding move, the Indians optioned righthander Jason Davis to Triple-A Buffalo.
