Third-seeded Croat Mario Ancic and 2003 Wimbledon runner-up mark Philippoussis posted quarterfinal victories Friday at the grass-court Ordina Open -- a final Wimbledon tune-up.
Ancic, a semifinalist at Wimbledon last year, held off veteran Swede Jonas Bjorkman 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, while the two-time Grand Slam runner-up Philippoussis needed a pair of tiebreaks to beat ninth-seeded Italian Davide Sanguinetti 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-0) at Autotron Rosmalen.
The 6-foot-5 Ancic will face 6-foot-4 Czech Jan Hernych in Saturday's semifinals, while the oft-injured Philippoussis will encounter reigning Ordina champion Michael Llodra of France.
Llodra ran his winning streak at this event to eight by overcoming German Lars Burgsmuller 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, while Hernych handled German Philipp Kohlschreiber 7-6 (7-1), 6-2.
The lefthanded Llodra defeated Argentine Guillermo Coria in last year's final here.
