Baltimore centerfielder Luis Matos was in the Orioles starting lineup Sunday after he was activated from the 15- day disabled list following the club's 7-2 victory over Colorado on Saturday.
Matos had been sidelined since May 10, when he broke the ring finger on his right hand while attempting to bunt in a game against Minnesota. The 26-year- old is hitting .289 with one home run, 12 RBI and seven steals in 32 games this season.
To make room on the 25-man roster, the Orioles optioned outfielder David Newhan to Triple-A Ottawa.
Newhan is batting just .194 with three home runs and 12 RBI in 40 games on the year.
