Cincinnati Reds outfielder Kenny Kelly had arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday and is expected to miss the next three weeks.
Kelly underwent the procedure -- performed by team medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek -- to repair a torn miniscus in his left knee suffered during Tuesday night's home win against St. Louis. He banged his left knee against the wall while making a catch in the seventh inning.
The Reds are expected to place Kelly on the disabled list before Friday's game versus Cleveland. In six games this season, Kelly has three hits, two RBI and a pair of runs scored to go along with a .375 batting average.
Kelly joined the big league club on June 12 when the team recalled him from Triple-A Louisville after outfielder Austin Kearns was optioned to the Bats.
