The Colorado Rockies activated second baseman Aaron Miles off the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday prior to the start of their contest with the Houston Astros at Coors Field.
Miles had been sidelined since May 25 with a right intercostal strain.
The 28-year-old Miles is hitting .297 this season with a home run and 14 RBI. He has also scored 21 times. Last year, Miles led all National League rookies with a .293 batting average and was tops among all major league rookies with 153 hits and 75 runs scored.
In a related move, Colorado will send infielder Ryan Shealy to Triple-A Colorado Springs. Shealy played in seven games for the Rockies and was 6- for-19 with a homer and three RBI.
