Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin underwent successful arthroscopic surgery Monday on his left knee. Martin is expected to begin rehabilitation in the next 10-14 days and should be ready for next season.
The 27-year-old Martin played in 70 games this past season for the Nuggets, including 67 starts, and averaged 15.5 points and 7.3 rebounds. He then posted averages of 12.4 points and 5.6 boards in the opening-round playoff series against San Antonio, which captured the best-of-seven set in five games.
Martin was acquired by Denver from New Jersey on July 15, 2004 in exchange for three future first-round draft picks. The top overall selection by the Nets in the 2000 NBA Draft, Martin has averaged 15.2 points and 7.5 rebounds over 353 career games.
