Ducks end affiliation with Cincinnati

The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced Monday that the club's affiliation agreement with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League (AHL) has ended. "We would like to thank Pete Robinson and his entire staff for their efforts over the last eight years," said Mighty Ducks of Anaheim senior vice president/interim general manager Al Coates. "We also thank the loyal hockey fans in Cincinnati for their support. " Cincinnati has been the AHL affiliate for Anaheim since the 1997-98 season. The affiliation originally began in 1995-96 when the team was known as the Baltimore Bandits (the team relocated to Cincinnati in 1997). The AHL Ducks completed their second-best year in team history during the 2004-2005 season, finishing 44-31-1-4 for 93 points, establishing a club- record for wins in one season. Cincinnati, though, was defeated by the Chicago Wolves in five games in the second round of the playoffs.
